Radio Frequency Identification System Design

Duration: 60 minutes

This recording will describe the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) System Methodology. This methodology can be used to model an entire RFID system using ANSYS high-frequency tools. Specifically this recording will show how HFSS can be used to model transceiver antennas, tag antennas, and realistic RFID environments. It will show how Ansoft Designer can be used to simulate the transceiver (reader) as well as the tag circuitry (RFID label). Additionally, the recording will describe how the circuit and electromechanical simulation paradigms can be easily and seamlessly combined into a full RFID system simulation.

In particular this recording will show a working 900 MHz RFID system in a non ideal, but realistic, environment. It will show that the above RFID System Methodology can predict field coverage, backscatter data transfer between tag and reader, as well as other metrics that are used to predict or qualify system performance.
