ANSYS 12.0 brings a wealth of tools for pump design and analysis, building upon the long-standing strength and reputation of ANSYS software for turbomachinery applications. This webinar highlights the capabilities of the ANSYS Turbo System for creating, modifying and analyzing pump systems. The ability to create flexible work flows will be showcased, incorporating ANSYS Workbench-compatible 1-D and 2-D design tools (Vista CPD and Vista TF), turbo-specific geometry and meshing tools (ANSYS BladeModeler 12.0 and ANSYS TurboGrid 12.0), CFD Solvers (ANSYS CFX 12.0 and ANSYS FLUENT 12.0) and post-processing (ANSYS CFD Post). The workflows permit multiple analyses to be set up for parametric study, enabling automation of runs for producing pump curves, specified geometry changes, combined flow and mechanical stress calculations and even design optimization. In addition, some of the latest physical models in the CFD solvers will be described, such as the new turbulence transition models and cavitation. Examples will be presented illustrating the capabilities of the software to produce real world solutions for a wide range of pump applications, including pumps systems with volutes and multistage machines.
