Webinar: Design of Experiment and Design Exploration in Ansoft HFSS with ANSYS DesignXplorer
Duration: 60 minutes
In-depth design analysis and simulation are typically used as a means to assess the performance of a part or a system for one given set of CAD dimensions, excitation and material properties. Simulation can also be used to answer the "what if" questions: What if my trace width varies by 5% due to manufacturing tolerances? Will my design still perform within specification if the loss tangent exceeds 0.015? Which parameters are really influencing the behavior of my system? These types of questions can be answered by an appropriate and systematic study of the design through parametric analysis.
A parametric analysis can be either deterministic or probabilistic. In the former case, all parameters are supposed to vary continuously within a given range (defining the design space) and the expected result is the continuous response of the various performances. The deterministic analysis is a first step to take to understand the product and find a feasible design within the design space. Once a feasible design has been found, the next question is: how robust is it?
The probabilistic parametric analysis will help answer that question. In general, dimensions and material properties are not deterministic parameters; a dimension has a certain tolerance and material properties depend on the manufacturing process. How does the scattering of these parameters influence the performance of the product? Given this variance can a design’s yield be predicted or improved upon?
View this one-hour webinar to learn more about electromagnetic simulation, design and parametric analysis using Ansoft HFSS and ANSYS DesignXplorer. This webinar will address the use and benefits of deterministic and probabilistic electromagnetic analyses. Examples will show how they can be conducted using the rigor, robustness and accuracy of HFSS with the intuitive and powerful automation of design exploration available with ANSYS DesignXplorer software.
